Description

A subtle combination of absinthe macerations, aromatic plants and spices in white wine makes Forcalquier Vermouth a balanced vermouth to enjoy chilled over ice or in a cocktail.

In 1898, the Henri Bardouin distillery was founded in Forcalquier, in the heart of Provence.

Recently, the distillery's producers returned to the original recipes and mixed spices and herbs from distant lands, which were purchased at the time in the port of Marseille.
Herbs and their healing properties have long been known and used to treat suffering for centuries.
Especially in a climate like Provence, where countless plants thrive, the production of herbal medicines is widespread.
To extract the active ingredients, oils have always been extracted from plants using alcohol.

Vermouth has an alcohol content between 14.5 and 21.9% by volume. This is stipulated by law and is achieved by mixing wine with herbs and spices.
One of the main components and namesake of this drink is the wormwood herb. It is characterized by a fine and bitter note.

Forcalquier Vermouth has a greenish color with bright yellow reflections. It has a clear wormwood note, which comes from the wormwood herb. In fact, 15 herbs are used for this vermouth, including coriander, anise, lemon balm, mint, cinnamon, gentian, mugwort - and, of course, wormwood.

The Henri Bardouin distillery recommends this drink as an aperitif, on ice and as a cocktail.
